...Repositioned and Redesigned!

Re-Positioned and Re-Designed

"There are certain things that we may not want to admit to or hear about ourselves...Its only when we make the decision to take criticism positively that we grow...There's a reason why people cross paths cos no matter the situation, God always uses people as vessels in our lives...Let’s be grateful for our vessels." ***Kemo

Over the past few weeks...with so much that has been going on in my life, it’s been difficult to catch a breath and really catch a glimpse of who I am and where I am in light of who I am destined to be and where my path is leading to...

My previous blogs were really from the heart and referred to real issues and truths that I have been faced with...from the feedback I have been getting, I have been able to see how answering a call to be a vessel can cause a positive ripple effect on others...this is why I took some time to think long and hard about the WHOLE message that should be coming out of me to you in this blog...

I must admit, even though I feel that I have tried to step out and "be a vessel", there is still more water to flow out of me...

I have come to understand that my God made a

creative

beautiful

Intelligent

Spiritual

And Loving person...

He has also Blessed me abundantly and has Divinely favoured me...so...what better way to be a vessel than to share the fullness of what I have been blessed with, with my fellow vessels?

I did some introspection and decided to Re-Position myself and Re-Design my blog! Yes, the name "KemoG11" and the "Being a Vessel" theme still continues as I believe it’s who I am and my core purpose...from now on though...u will be getting MORE...MORE sharing about my walk, my struggles and my victories with God...MORE on my interests from fashion to other random but interesting ‘stuff’... Some sharing of other peoples experiences and journeys and also quite a bit of intellectually stimulating blogs on current affairs and our world today! And to the guys, this also means that I will be making some things relevant to ya'll! So welcome!

So YES KemoG11 goes BIGGER and BETTER...consider all the content topics as beads and the main theme of "Being a Vessel" as the thread that puts its all together...

Excited to share more with you all!

Love always
***Kemo

Ps: I never explained what the "***" and the "Kemo" mean? Well, Kebone Moloko is my full name so “Ke”  “Mo” ... get it? ayt! The three stars represent the three women who God has used as the major vessels in my life! My Grandmother, My mother and my beloved aunt/sister! God Bless them! Amen.

"...do not say I am youth..."

There are times when we get so caught up in our own struggles and in the idea that we don't have the power to make a difference that we miss the opportunities to be filled to overflow so that we can be blessings upon the lives of others...

Procrastination, FEAR and the feeling of worthlessness are all thieves! They steal our ability to think, act and see the truth! We give them too much power...

This all became clear to me this week at the Launch of EconForum...it all started with one young woman who saw a need to give students @ Monash more than what they get in the lecture room...she approached two other young women who bought into the idea and agreed to work together to find an answer to fulfil this need...more and more people got involved and on Thursday 19th May 2011 the club was launched...the feedback from students was overwhelming and confirmed the idea that students at Monash are hungry for more than just theory learnt in lectures...they need to be fed with current issues and ideas that will challenge them to get informed and be MORE!

We all have that secret place...where we hear that voice telling us what we are capable of despite all the lies that we are told on the surface! That desire to be more and to start something or do something...You know what I'm talking about...

This reminds me of the story of Jeremiah in the Bible when God chose him to be a prophet and said to him,

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)

And then Jeremiah replied and said,

"Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am youth." (Jeremiah 1:6)

Then God said,

"Do not say, I am youth,' for you shall go to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces for I am with you to deliver you," (Jeremiah 1:7-8)

"Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant." (Jeremiah 1: 9-10)

At his young age, Jeremiah was secretly told what he needed to do...but at first he hesitated...this is what I am talking about...we are sometimes so quick to bring up any excuse why we should not be the ones to take the first step or be obedient to "that voice"...we use silly excuses like Jeremiah did, or things like, "I am not ready" or "I don't know how to"... well read verse 1:7-8 again!

We are Africa's future...what we are learning and establishing today will impact our countries in the years to come...like God said, we are called to "root out and pull down" all lies, "Destroy and throw down" anything that is not of God that stands in our way..."To build and to plant" a future for Ourselves! Let us not rob our neighbours their chance to be blessed, It is NOT our place to say!

Now I am not saying that we should all become prophets...I am saying let's answer to being sisters, brothers, mentors, study buddies...living examples..you know what you are being asked to do...or what desire lies in you...whether small or big...its a part of the ripple effect to the victory of our nations! YEs it might sound like I am being dramatic but its true! So

"Arise and shine; for your light has come!"  (Isaiah 60:1)

Covering our Sockets...

Covering your socket...

Covering your socket...

The importance of guarding our hearts (Proverbs 4:23)...TD Jakes explains it well in His version of the NKJ Bible when he says that women are like open sockets and men are like plugs.

When a woman is married, her socket is covered by her husband and he is the shield that protects her in their covenant...when a woman is single (and by this single means NOT MARRIED), she is open and vulnerable and needs to ensure that she is covered by God and His shield of protection so that no other kind of "funny plug" or “non fitting plug” can try to come into her socket when it’s not supposed to be there...
Now this is not only referring to sex ladies...I'm talking about engaging in both emotional and physical relations for the wrong reasons...yearning to be covered by m a n who is 'flawful' instead of God who knows our hearts and has our health, safety and wellbeing @ heart.
In Lady in waiting, Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones talk about how us women are so focused on becoming ‘women’ by the worlds standards and definitions, that we are under the impression that our lives only ‘begin’ once we become wives, mothers or when we become noticed by men and are complimented by them – depending on that reassurance to define who we are!
Wanting to be defined by man’s words (including other women) can lead us to a place of self destruction...the journey one has to go through to achieve that level of so called “beauty” and “worth” makes us forget about our open sockets...allowing ourselves to be open to unwanted chaos...and Sometimes ... it’s not even just about “beauty”...it’s about our egos being stroked...We like to be adored...
When I look back @ my life, even though I know that the hardships I went through and the mistakes that I made make me the stronger and wiser woman I am today, I wish I could have known better...I wish that I was more careful about what and who I let plug into my socket!!!!
What I have learnt is...man will always be man and he will always have flaws...it’s the connection through God that defines mans’ worth...
It’s so important to have sisters, older and younger so that we can be poured into and also overflow and pour into others...my little sisters...if there's anything I can leave you with from this post is: make sure that you are diligent and allow God to be your covering, your first love and especially your primary point of reference...my sister sisters and older sisters...we have alllll been through DRAMA! We all have a story to share and I'm sure that we are better people today because of those experiences...
This one was lead by the spirit ya’ll...a Revelation...Deep times...

Let the WATER Run...

Like a Tap releasing water that quenches the thirsts of many, my goal in life is to be the faucet that releases God's running water and shower it upon the people, communities and nations that He places me in!

I have come to understand that in order to be a tap, I don't have to be made of Gold handles and look shinny as new 24/7...I have come to understand that being a tap, I don't have to be perfect and holier than thou...I have come to understand that being a tap, I don't have to perform miracles for all man to see...nor do I have to look upon man for his approval...

Being a tap...All I need is to be a willing and committed vessel, ready to flow and overflow into the lives of those that God Himself has placed me strategically...and to allow My reservoir to be filled by Him daily...

Young women, this is our time, the time to claim what is ours. We have sat back for too long waiting, wishing, fearing...This is our time to step into a season of laboring and working towards a greater goal. I don't think that we understand just how much influence we (all of us who are privileged enough to be educated) have over our people...every one of us has been given a gift, a tool to use in our journey...what is your gift? How are you using it?

I remember reading about the virtuous  woman (Proverbs 31:10-31) and thinking, 'I want to be like her' ...she is not only intelligent, but she is also a woman who takes care of her people, her family and has faith like a mustard seed! She is confident, a BUSINESS WOMAN who FEARS the power of GOD and does not rely on her beauty to define who she is. This is who we are all destined to be no matter where we are right now...No matter how 'imperfect' we may be...

This first post is dedicated to my sisters...I love you all and let's keep on being Phenomenal Women!
